  • What will happen during the treatment?

    A comprehensive consultation is required to assess suitability and create a personalised treatment plan. Your microneedling treatment is carefully tailored following a detailed skin consultation and assessment. The Dermapen device is used to deliver controlled, uniform micro-injuries at precise depths, ensuring optimal stimulation while respecting the skin’s structure and integrity. Following treatment, you will be provided with a specialised home care kit for the first 24–48 hours, designed to support healing and protect the skin during its most active regenerative phase.

  • Will it hurt?

    No, Microneedling when administered correctly should not be overly painful. There should only be a little discomfort and you will be in charge the entire time and the settings of the device can be altered to your comfort. Due to expertise and experience the treatment is performed quickly and efficiently.

  • Microneedling results can be seen in as little as a week, with the initial glow and plumping setting in. Best results are seen in 4-8 weeks, once the skin cycle has finish it’s reset. Collagen induction results can continue to be seen for up to a year. A course of Microneedlng treatments are recommended for best long term results.

  • Contraindications - You are not suitable for treatment if:

    • You are pregnant or breastfeeding 

    • You are sick or feeling unwell on the day 

    • Taking antibiotics/steroid medication (wait 14 days after treatment has ended)

    • Suffering from any form of skin infection/ condition have a facial outbreak of Eczema/Dermatitis/ Psoriasis/ Scleroderma or active coldsore

    • Pregnant or Breast feeding

    • Taking medication for your skin (Roaccutane wait 6-12 months once treatment has ended) 

    • Taking blood thinning medication 

    • History of Anaphylaxis or known allergy to product ingredients including Nickel or stainless steal allergies 

    • Cystic, infected or inflamed acne 

    • Diabetes type 1 

    • Immunosuppressant diseases such as Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, HIV

    • Heart problems or diseases

    • Family history of hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation

    • Solar Keratosis

    • Epilepsy

    • Clients under 18 years of age

    All contraindications are carefully reviewed prior to treatment

     

    Possible Complications & Adverse Reactions

    When performed by a highly trained practitioner using medical-grade equipment, microneedling is considered safe. However, potential risks include:

    Common and temporary reactions:

    • Redness, warmth, or mild swelling

    • Temporary sensitivity or tightness

    • Mild pinpoint bleeding during treatment

    Less common but possible complications:

    • Prolonged inflammation

    • Infection if aftercare is not followed

    • Post-inflammatory pigmentation

    • Skin barrier disruption if treated incorrectly

    *Strict protocols, professional technique, and tailored aftercare are essential to minimising risk.

     

    Aftercare & Recovery

    • Avoid touching your face 8 hours to avoid causing irritation/ infection. Do not let a pet lick your face and clean glasses rim with an antibacterial wipe.

    • For the first 1-3 days, the skin will may feel dry/tight, and may lightly peel.

    • Please refrain from wearing makeup for the first 24 hours.

    • Avoid alcohol-based toners, products with Retinols, BHA’s, AHA’s, salicylic or glycolic acids products for 7 days and avoid products containing Vitamin C for 3 days.

    • Avoid sunbathing, sunbeds and saunas for at least 10 days and use and SPF daily.

    • No fake tanning products on the treated area for 7 days after the treatment.

    • No other skin treatment for 14 days

    • Do not do a heavy work out/get sweaty around the facial area or use a swimming pool for 24 hours post treatment
